How the time flies here at Rye. We're already 1/2 done with the vacation. Boo hoo. So far the time has been divided between chasing Ace on the beach and chasing ace in the ocean. When I'm not doing that I'm catching little beach crabs at his constant request and otherwise entertaining Ace. I had been concerned that Ace would not be into the ocean very much. Early tests had shown he was a hardcore chicken when it came to the big blue. I blamed it on his geting creamed by a wave last year at this same beach and then again in Puerto Rico. However, I discovered that if I sit in the freezing cold surf Ace will lose his mind and play endlessly around me no matter what the conditions. So sudden;y I had a totally loopy ocean boy and that is a good thing. We also went to teh sea coast science senter and sat through a fun learning game where we learned all about Carageenan which is a product extracted from seaweed. It's used in like a milllion things. Ice cram, toothpaste and so on. Apparently this area used to be like a main hub for Irish Moss Seaweed and therefore carageenan. The lady who gave the lecture sounded like a convict or short order cook giving a science lesson.
We have friends visiting us at the moment. Kate & Bill from Milwaukee. They flew out Thursday and leave Tuesday I think. Last night they made like a huge meal. maple chipotle corn on the ob, beer butt chicken, potatoes and more. I was a little trown off by all the grub, I just wanted to have a chicken sandwich. It was good all around. The corn was delicious and spice burned your whole mouth and lips. Monday we're all driving down to see the Lowell Spinners. It should be fun. I hope we get one of the Luis Aliciea bobbleheads. Heaven knows I need more worthless crap. Today we went to Portsmith for the shitty craft fair and then got dinner at a pizza place that smelled like a basement. It was located ina basement so it figured. The pizza and cheesy garlic bread were fantastic.
I reconnected with my friend Zac briefly yesterday via the IM. We've fallen out of touch as hes become an important ad agency guy and also as he strove to adopt a child last year. It was nice briefly conversing with him
In weird news I made my mom watch "Team America" she didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped she might.
