Well the vacation of '06 is over. Here's pics
Catching up as usual: We went to a Lowell Spinners (class A red sox affiliate) game. We were too late to get a bobblehead. Some people we saw had like one for each family member which I thought was totally gay. Like 5 bobbleheads. You know that mom doens't want hers. Only selfish fucking dad or baby bro wants to hog them. Of course if I really wanted one I could find it on eBay. But I am 100% positive that there are zero buyers for that minor league coach' bobble head figure. The actual game was fun. They have like a million things to do at the game and kept it interesting. The spinners lost to the tri-city Valley Cats but who cares. It was the best $4.50 ticket in town. In the urinals they has newspaper articles from the local rag. My brother read one in there about how the local municpality owns all these landmark buildings and some have a red "X" in front of them. Someone found out that that is a signal to the fire dept not to save the building if it catches fire. Nice. Next year I want to try to see a Portland SeaDogs.
3 days before the vacation was over my mom dropped a flagstone on her foot. She managed to break a bone in her foot but didn't know it. She went on with her day. She even decided to buy a used surfboard since she'd always wanted to learn how to do it. She managed to make it until like 6pm or so before she was unable to walk on her foot anymore and went to the emergency room. She was there until 3:30am! She was on crutches the whole end of the trip. Such a downer.
We drove the long drive back this morning. Of course first I had to panic about the fact that I left my somethingawful.com sweatshirt in the Newington Regal Cinema 12 at the Mall at the previous days 4pm screening of Barnyard. Do not see Barnyard. It is not very good. Anyway, I was pretty sure I left it there because I couldn't find it and was very cold all day after the movie. So I called the theater and they answered. A movie theater that actually answers its phone.... only in a small town. I asked if they'd found it and they said "Come on down" so we drove 15 mins out of the way to get my stupid SA sweatshirt. The rest of the drive was pretty standard. Not much traffic. Mike got a ride home with us and we listened to some pretty raunchy stand-up comedu on the XM radio that came with the car. Funny stuff. XM radio is cool but maddeninly hard to navigate if you don't have a channel listing. I also heard stand up repeated in an irritating frequency but it was fun to listen to the stupid punk rock station.
I will leave you with this image to conisder....
