Seriously. What the fuck? It's really hard to believe that someone would really say "I would never vote for a black man." and mean it. There is simply no defendable reason for that stance.

I saw this on the East river today while hanging out with Ace and his playdate in DUMBO. Seeing the majesty of the vote boat made me instantly change my vote.

Man I was so busy this weekend I barely had time to stress out constantly about the ridiculous path that this election is taking. On Sunday Colin Powell endorsed Obama. Powell clearly stated the reasons he decided Obama was a better choice. In fact when answered if race had something to do with it he said "If that was the case I would have made my choice 10 months ago." Sadly thats the only reason that some people will believe. Especially Rush Limbaugh and Pat Buchanan. Sad sad people.

Meanwhile todays hubbub is all about how much $$$ the RNC has spent on getting Palin's wardrobe up to speed with a national campaign. No more pelts for you, Mrs. Palin!

Meanwhile the Daily Show did an awesome piece on Wasilla, Alaska. Just brutal reality. Especially the whole interview with the mayor. Signing checks... yeah thats a lot of executive experience. Once again the fake news is doing a better job of getting to the point than the regular news.

These images are classic. This election has been about as dumb as possible. Can you imagine if race or ethnicity was a big deal in other presidential elections? It would boil down to European ethnicity and then all the great old jokes would be pouring out the wood work. Don Rickles would have had a field day. Instead we have shit like this moron.

So, yeah. Things are looking good for Obama right now. Being a life long Red Sox fan I can never quite get excited when my team is winning. The threat of sudden loss is always looming the corners. Waiting for me to look away to high five someone so it can sneak in and kick the ball through Buckner's legs again. But right now, a little too far out for me to get too excited, Obama has a nice solid lead. Of course it should be even bigger but the intense and growing rage of the Republicans is somehow keeping them from admitting that their political pairing for the highest office in the land sucks in a pretty unbelievable fashion. So much so that even Christopher Hitchens (Alcoholic, Athiest and Lady-Hater of Great Renown) and Christopher Buckley (Hawkish right-wing mirror of his father William F.) have announced that they are going to vote for Obama. Surely the God of the Republican party is quaking with maddening rage at this announcement. Will this spark outrage? Will there be "Don't drink the Buckley Kool-Aid! NOBAMA!" shirts? Three weeks out. Please don't implode!

My favorite things are the anti-communist sentiments that seem to have bloomed here in the final stretch. It's like 1980 all over again. So much Red Fear! So much weird anti-muslim innuendo. So much plain old blind white rage. I really can't stop laughing at these shirts. They are ludicrous. Be sure not to just stop on the first page they are adding more all the time! Hey, Christmas is right around the corner!

I mean really, people? Who the hell is still calling people "Commie Faggots"? This isn't 1980. This is such a sad parade of angry old white people it's sort of a jaw dropper. My favorite part was seeing the guy with the Obama logo shirt with the hammer and sickle in the center of the O. I mean at least I know where that guy stands. I was looking around for where to find that shirt of the web and found some really atrocious anti-obama hate sites. I mean there is some CRAZY racism going on out there that we just aren't hearing about. I mean the idea that people are calling Obama "Nigbama" or "Obonga" and directly saying that he is both a terrorist and a muslim. Also there have been mentions of "forced school integrations." Is this the 50's all over again? Just dumb as fuck IMHO.

I've had this argument with several of my friends in the business sector for a long time. Basically that I don't think it's right that big companies splurge on executive perks and bonuses and other things. Especially like when they loan execs money to buy houses then forgive the loans so that the execs basically get a house for free. Things like that, my friends argue, are how companies entice people to get on board with them. "Look at our excess and largess!" they say. Meanwhile they cut benefits for their employees and all sorts of other skullduggery. I am painting with a broad stroke but executive privilege and compensation has been rampant for far too long in my opinion.

I'm not saying there should be NO perks. Just not obscene give-aways. Especially when the company is in the tank and getting a giant bail out. Like AIG....

We went out to Stuarts Farm to go apple picking again this year. A lot more apples on the trees because we went earlier than last year. Also a lot more people! It was a nice time.

I should have eaten something during the day though. I was kind of gunshy about eating after my rotten gut issues this past week. CRAZY cramps. Anyway by the time we got home I was so hungry I thought I was going to pass out. After we had some dinner I did pass out. Just fell asleep on the couch. LAME.

David Letterman seems like he's on a mission after McCain dissed him for that whole campaign suspension thing. The assault continues!

Well my friends Sam and Rob have a new show on comedy.com called "The Geek Pad" its a funny little show about current tech news. If it does well I may have a recurring bit on it. I shot a few for them about a month ago. Hopefully I'll make the final cut! Being me I doubt it. Sigh... Well enjoy it anyway and digg it if you can.

I like how Jack Cafferty delivers his pieces. He basically seems like he can barely believe he has to say what his saying. Like, "Can you believe this? I mean really, people?" The letters are good, too. The fact that anyone who watches CNN and think (as the popular phase of the day goes) it's in the tank for Obama and not fair is an idiot. Eric Alterman's Book "What Liberal Media?" did a good job of showing the actual coverage and bias of the media during the election of Bush v Gore. Bush definitely got the upper hand all the while the RNC was whining about the Liberal bias of the main stream media. ARGHHHHHH!!!!!



I'm glad that someone is being critical of her in the news. I mean especially when you can see that good old fair and balanced news is up to it's usual craptacular bullshit.

Well finally there is a reason to be a little more up Beat. Sarah Palin's shine has come off as she's opened her mouth and showed what an unqualified beauty queen she is.

The VP debate is this weekend and everyone is begging Sarah Palin to just be natural and not try to remember all those pesky facts and issues that she doesn't really get. If she tried to debate policy I think that she will implode. But if she can just be chatty Sarah then I am kind of worried. History has shown that if she's allowed to not discuss the topic and just be folksy she can win.

Meanwhile Palin keeps sticking her foot in her mouth like an idiot. This Couric interview, which now the GOP says is "Gotcha" journalism... whatever that means... is like a treasure trove of her stupidity.
